Clarion Hotel Amaranten in Stockholm is the first hotel in the world to have a chatbot serve guests in their suites.

Project: Clarion Hotel Amaranten in Stockholm is the first hotel in the world to have a chatbot serve guests in their suites. The chatbot servant is based on Amazon's robot asisstant Amazon Echo, which calls itself Alexa. It has been augmented with hotel specific functions.

Client: Nordic Choice Hotels

Project: Voice Controlled (AI) Hotel room

Deliverables: Strategy, Schematics, Software Development, Hardware Prototyping, Application Development

Alexa is currently able to perform tasks such as waking the guests in the morning, ordering taxis, playing the music of their choice, searching for information on the internet, and informing on the weather prognosis and the opening hours of the hotel.

We are still in the initial test stage of the bot. We want to make the chatbot capable of performing more functions over time, and essentially letting the guest control anything from lighting in the suite to ordering room service with voice commands. If everything works out, Clarion wants to make Alexa available at other hotels as well.

If you've been wishing for a genie at your disposal, there's no need to rub any more lamps. Just check in for a night at Clarion Amaranten and ask for the suite with Alexa.
